Our Sustainability Approach

The goal of creating value for all key stakeholders forms the basis of our sustainability approach, which is established within the framework of corporate governance principles by considering social, environmental and economic responsibilities.

We matter creating a corporate culture and climate that feeds on mutual interaction and improves participation channels of our stakeholders. All matters of strategic importance are managed beyond the relevant legal obligations, by taking into account the international best practices and expectations of key stakeholders.

We consider the evaluation, continuous improvement and development of the social, economic and environmental dimensions while producing economic value. We focus on feeding sustainable growth through developing sustainable business models, products and services to create solutions for the changing needs of society. We do not provide products or services to sectors and activities that have a negative impact on the climate emergency, ecosystem and community welfare and security, and for which these effects cannot be reduced, and does not invest within the scope of fund management activities. We take Sabancı Group’s Responsible Investment Policy as a basis when determining this sector and activities and the implementation methods related to them.

Putting people as the most valuable asset, we aim to involve in the activities that take care of the benefit of people and society. Besides our Ethic Rules, we are committed to the principles of the following internationally recognized standards:

  • The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
  • The eight core labour standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO)
  • The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
  • The United Nations Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights (“Protect, Respect and Remedy”-Framework)

We expect our employees, our suppliers, and all the stakeholders to comply with the key guidelines and recommendations.

Labor Relations Management and Legal Compliance

Studies conducted on changes in working life in Turkey and in the World, statistical data, trends and best practices as well as legal and administrative regulations both in Turkey and the World are closely monitored and shared with all stakeholders through a range of digital tools. We are informed of proactive measures taken against the risks which may arise. We respect and attach utmost importance to the rights of its employees in union organizations and collective bargaining agreements. We take an unbiased approach in the union selection and union organization process of our employees. An effective cooperation and dialogue platform is in the process of being established to ensure improvement and continuity of workplace harmony in cooperation with employee and employer unions.

Zero Tolerance to Child / Forced Labor

We strongly oppose child labor and is obliged to comply with all kinds of local and international legislation regarding child labor. In addition, we oppose all forms of forced labor, which is defined as work that is performed involuntarily.

We work up to minimize the negative impact of our activities on the environment, to ensure continuous improvement of environmental protection activities and to make it a lifestyle for everyone. Our efforts on conservation of natural resources especially energy and water, recycling/recovering of the waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions help preserving the natural balance and keeping the environment viable for future generations. In order to support the local and low-carbon economy in purchasing, suppliers with local and environmentally friendly practices are preferred, provided that they comply with our company Supplier Code of Conduct.
